Meditating - it's a simple way to relax

People say to me when I mention meditating 🧘‍♀️  that they can’t do it. They don’t know how to switch off the monkey mind.

As I reflected on this comment, I remembered even as a young mum in my early twenties, how I used to sit in the garden under a tree and go somewhere. Now I realise it was a chance to reflect. To time off from the children needing mum.

I didn’t know I was meditating it just felt good.

Today I would say to anyone who wants to learn this healthy relaxing gift you can give yourself it’s this.

Look at the pictures above.

Look at them one at a time.

What do you see?

Now feel your breath as you continue to look at the picture.

Watch the breath as you breath in and out.

Now watch your mind how quickly does it distract you from the beauty you see. The gentle way your breath goes in and out.

Slowly relaxing in the moment.

Today I would like you to take a few moments to look at a tree see the leaves the trunk. Watch your breath. When you feel stressed, use this as a reminder to calm down. Breath through the nose and out through the mouth.

Feel the difference.

So to conclude.

That is meditating it’s a simple way to relax.

Look at a bird really look or whatever you choose.

Begin there, and you will begin to realise that you can meditate whenever you choose.

Like anything it takes practice and only you can do that.

Make today your day for putting this into practice daily.

You will be really glad you did.

See you next time
